Harlow Town Centre Regeneration

Ground Investigation Specification and Phase II Geo-environmental Assessments – Harlow & Gilston Garden Town (HGGT)

As part of the Harlow Town Centre Regeneration Scheme, A-squared was involved in the review of third party geo-environmental reports to produce multiple ground investigation specifications across Harlow Town Centre. A-squared supervised multiple ground investigations as per the specifications which included the instructions of monitoring well installations, soil and groundwater sampling, in-situ geo-environmental testing and chemical laboratory testing of both soils and groundwater.

Quantitative risk assessments of each site was undertaken in general accordance with the Governments Land Contamination Risk Management (LCRM) guidance, in the context of National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and The Building Regulations 2010, Approved Document C - Site preparation and resistance to contaminants and moisture (2004 Edition incorporating 2010 and 2013 amendments). The assessments were undertaken specifically for each proposed development to assess whether any unacceptable risks are present which require either further assessment or remediation.
