The use of integrated geo-structural numerical modelling has enabled the optimisation of the piled raft foundation system for the Warsaw Spire building in Poland. This challenging £200m project has benefited from ongoing research undertaken by A-squared and collaboration with Dutch based Geo2 BV, and has pushed the boundaries of finite element simulation in the field.
Construction powers ahead on the initial phases of the TRV motorway scheme in Mauritius. Emilio and Alex visit the Chinese contractor Sinohydro project management team on site. With slopes exceeding 40m in height, the scheme presents substantial challenges from both design and construction perspectives.
